Ruth H. Sheffer, age 95, formerly of Richmond, died Saturday afternoon (April 12, 2008) in Via ChristiSaint Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.� She was born in Wayne County, Indiana on July 27, 1912 to Claude and Edith Schroy Hamilton and had lived here all of her life before moving to Kansas� in 1999.� Ruth was a 1930 graduate of Centerville High School and had worked as a beautician in Fountain City prior to her marriage. She was a homemaker and a long-time member of First Christian Church..� She had volunteered as a Gray Lady at Reid Hospital� and had also volunteered at the former Green Acres.� She was a past president of the Treaty Line Council of Girl Scouts.� Her husband of 58 years, Garth Sheffer, died on November 25, 1997 Survivors include her daughter - Joyce (John) Gedraitis of Wichita, KS;� granddaughter - Joan Gedraitis of Kansas City, Missouri;� nieces and nephews�
In addition to her parents, three brothers are also deceased.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday (April 23, 2008) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary.� Rev. Amanda Hines will officiate.� Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.� Friends may call on Tuesday (April 22, 2008) from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.� www.riggle-waltermann.com �
