Ruth A. Vogelgesang, age 75, of Richmond, died Thursday morning (June 19, 2008) at her residence.� She was born in Richmond on June 9, 1933 to Joseph and Irene Baumer Vogelgesang and had lived here all of her life.� She was a 1951 graduate of Richmond High School and was the retired office manager for the former American Towel and Linen.� Ruth was a member of Saint Andrew Church and was a member and current president of the YMI.� She was also a member of Catholic Women United and the Wayne County Women's Bowling Association for which she served as president for 23 years.� She belonged to and was past president of the State 600 Club and was honored by induction into the Wayne County and the Indiana Bowling Halls of Fame.� �
Survivors include her brothers - James (Mary) Vogelgesang of Richmond, Donald (Elma) Vogelgesang of Saint Augustine, Florida;� sister - Martha Hammerle of Batesville; nieces and nephews - Scott Vogelgesang, Bob Vogelgesang, Kaz Vogelgesang, Xen Vogelgesang, John Hammerle, JoLynn Eckstine, Heather Ganser;� great nieces and nephews - Chris Vogelgesang, Lori Vogelgesang, Amy Vogelgesang, Katie Eckstine, Ethan Eckstine, Emily Eckstine, Matthew Hammerle, Adam Hammerle, Grayson Ganser, Lucy Ganser, Zander Vogelgesang, Cade Vogelgesang.�
A prayer service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday (June 23, 2008) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 1:30 pm in Saint Andrew Church.� Burial will be in Saint Andrew Cemetery.� Friends may call on Sunday (June 22, 2008) from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.� Memorial contributions may be made to Seton Catholic High School or to Saint Andrew Church, either in care of 240 South 6th Street.� Richmond, Indiana� 47374.�� www.riggle-waltermann.com �
