Obituary

Sallye Anne Carnes – Creech, age 66, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord Monday morning (April 23, 2018) at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Richmond on September 8, 1951 to DeWan and Norma Carnes and had lived here all of her life. She was a graduate of Richmond High School and worked in the banking industry her entire career beginning with First National Bank which later became Bank One and then working for West End Savings Bank before moving to Perfect Circle Credit Union. Sallye loved to tend to and enjoy her flower garden and she found great pleasure in attending Nascar races and supporting her favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt. She also enjoyed watching reruns of her favorite shows, M.A.S.H. and Andy Griffith along with her hobby of cross stitching. Family was most important to her and family get-togethers were very special.

Survivors include the love of her life, husband of 47 years, James "Art" Creech; children Jeremy Creech and Sarah (Geoff) Riggle; sisters Lisa (Rick Barth) Simmons, Julie Stout, Amy (Dave) Shake; grandchildren Gabrielle Riggle and Levi Riggle; father-in-law Beldon (Helen) Asher; step father-in-law Larry Brees; sister-in-law Jenny Creech Mullen; aunt Linda (George) Webb; nieces, nephews and her special girlfriends. Her father, DeWan Carnes, died in 1992. Her mother, Norma Carnes-Schroeder died in 2017. Her brother Jeffery Carnes, mother-in-law Wanda Brees; brother-in-law David Stout and sister-in-law/brother-in-law Penny and William Drook also preceded her in death.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday (April 28, 2018) in Bible Alliance Baptist Church (2900 West Main Street), the building in which Jim and Sallye were united together and now Sallye will begin her heavenly journey. Her cousin, Tim Basford, will officiate. Burial will be in Lutherania Cemetery where Sallye will be joined by her mother and beloved dog "Clyde". Friends may call on Friday (April 27, 2018) from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary (32 South 11th Street) and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
