Scott Gene Bussen, 54, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones. Born on May 13, 1970, in Richmond, Scott was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Scott graduated from Richmond High School in 1988. He went on to become a very successful National Trainer for JP Morgan Chase, where he got to travel all over the US. Scott always had a way of building relationships, rapport and persuading others to see his way. He was always known for his charm, smile and humor. Scott was an avid Notre Dame fan, he never missed a Notre Dame game, and he never missed the opportunity to talk his team up. He and his best friends Chris Pierson and Steve Simon made annual trips to South Bend to tailgate and watch a game
Scott's first passion in life was his daughter Rylee. He was so proud of her and loved to watch her play soccer. He took every opportunity available to tell others about all the accomplishments Rylee made.
Scott is survived by his daughter, Rylee Elizabeth Bussen; his father and step-mother, Barry and Gerry Bussen; his step-father, Randy Spencer; his sister Traci (Tracy) Saunders; his step-siblings Aaron (Diana) Spencer, Melissa Spencer, Rob Richardson and Leslie Duncan; and nephews Wade Shipley and Matthew Saunders. He is also survived by his lifelong best friend, Chris Pierson, and many other family and friends.
Scott is preceded in death by his mother, Deborah Spencer, as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Visitation for Scott will be held at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm with a service immediately following officiated by Pastor Mike Austin. Scott's wishes were to be cremated.
Scott's legacy of love, laughter and friendship will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten
