It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sharon “Sherry” Skinner, who left us peacefully on April 19, 2026, at the age of 66. Sherry was born on November 3, 1959, in Richmond, Indiana to Samuel and Virginia (Wessel) Young and spent her life spreading joy and kindness wherever she went.

Sherry graduated from Richmond High School and worked as a clerk in the convenience store industry, where her friendly smile and warm personality made her a beloved figure in her community. She was known for her devotion to her pets – she adored her dogs and cats, considering them an integral part of her family. Her love for animals was only matched by her adventurous spirit; she enjoyed camping and often took trips in her own camper, cherishing the beauty of the outdoors.

Sherry leaves behind her loving sister, Kathleen (Russ) Wright; brother-in-law, Tom Herold; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many cousins; stepdaughter Julie (Shawn) Anderson and family. One of her closest friends, Tonya Day, shared countless cherished moments with her.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister Cindy Herold.

Sherry’s family will hold a celebration of life on May 23, 2026, from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Richmond Masonic Hall/Webb Masonic Lodge#24 (4090 South A St. Richmond, Indiana). Friends and family are invited to gather, share stories, and remember the beautiful person she was.
