Sherry Ann Witte, age 74, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Reid Hospital after an extended illness. She was born in Richmond, Indiana, on October 25, 1948, to Thomas J. and Nancy E. (Jennings) Roddy and had lived in the area her entire life.

Sherry graduated from Richmond High School in 1967 and remained in Richmond to raise her family. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and especially cherished her friendship with her sister, Jeannette Wilson. Sherry previously worked at the IU East Area 9 In-Home & Community Services Agency and the Centerville Senior Center. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by children Angela (Vince Martinez) Voiles, S. Matthew Witte and Karen King; grandchildren Blake (Madysen DeVivo) Voiles, Brooke (Jeremy) Voiles-Rath, Benjamin (Jessica) Witte, Samantha Witte, Marissa Witte and Cameron King; great-grandchildren Colby Creech and Jayson Witte; siblings Jeannette Wilson and Jerry Roddy; cousin Naden Owens, sister-in-law Yvonne Rudicil; cousins Roy Miller and Jimmy Miller; close friends Cindy (Dave) Johnson, Joyce Bennett and Roger Keller; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas J. and Nancy E. Roddy; son, Jason Witte; sister-in-law, Bernadette Witte; and close friend, Thelma Hildebrand.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Reid Hospice for the care given to Sherry.

The Liturgy of Christian burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will immediately follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2023, at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary.
