Steed C. Savvy, also known as Calvin Owen Hoffert, 55, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, October 8, 2014 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was born October 25, 1958, the son of Averil V. (Hoffert) Nielson and George D. Hoffert (deceased). He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Averil Nielson, a sister, Sherrlyn Mingus (husband, Rev. Paul) of Richmond, Indiana, a brother, Rev. Wayne Hoffert (wife, Connie) of Staples, Minnesota, eleven nieces and nephews, along with their spouses and children, all who loved him and wished him contentment in this journey called life. He also leaves behind a half-sister, Dawn Hoffert, and a half-brother, Joshua Hoffert both of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and numerous unknown, yet compassionate strangers who've helped him throughout the years, find his way. A service to commemorate Calvin's life will be 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the Southview Church of the Nazarene, Richmond, IN.
