Steve Ackley, age 56, of Richmond, Indiana (formerly of Torrington, Connecticut) died Monday January 9, 2006 at his home. He was the husband of Maureen McCarthy.
Steve earned a Master of Divinity Degree from Earlham School of Religion and had been employed by Covenant Hospice as a chaplain certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains.
In addition to his wife, Steve is survived by sisters Susan Ackley of Florida, Robin Hassig of Connecticut; brothers John Ackley of Oregon, Eric Rockwell of Tennessee and David Rockwell of Colorado; nieces & nephews.
Steve was predeceased by his parents Iola and Donald Ackley, stepmother Elizabeth Rockwell Ackley and brother Christopher Rockwell.
Steve was a member of Clear Creek Friends Meeting. A memorial service will be held at Stout Meeting House on the Earlham College campus at 2:00 pm on Thursday January 12, 2006.
