Thomas G. Koorsen, age 73, of Cambridge City, died on Thursday morning (November 6, 2008 at his residence.� He was born on September 25, 1935 at his grandfather's (Howard Gamber's) home in Greens Fork, Indiana.� He lived in Richmond and attended Richmond schools.� He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War where he served with the 13th Air Force in the Phillipines.� He worked in retailing in the downtown Richmond area for Bartel's Hoosier Store and Kennedy's Men's Wear.� He served under two City of Richmond administrations as Housing Code inspector and later as Department Head of the Sanitation Collection.� He joined the Cambridge City Police Department in 1976 and retired as it's Chief in 1993.�He is survived by his wife - Deanna Koorsen of Cambridge City; his son - Thomas A.. Koorsen of Fountain City;� daughter - Elizabeth A. Walker of Fredericksburg, Virginia;� his sister - Gloria and her husband Ray O'Donnell of Richmond;� a brother - James Koorsen of California;� two granddaughters, one niece and six nephews�He was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence (Larry) Koorsen.�Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday (November 8, 2008) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary (32 South 11th St., Richmond)�� Rev. Paul Mingus will officiate.� Burial will be in Greens Fork South Cemetery where military graveside services will be conducted by the Wayne County Honor Guard.� Friends may call on Saturday (November 8, 2008) from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
