Velda Vae Myers, age 76, of Richmond, died Monday evening (April 23, 2007) at Reid Hospital.� She was born in Webster, South Dakota on April 4, 1931 to Erick and Bena Dirks Waller and was a graduate of Webster High School where she was named class valedictorian and served as class president.� She was a homemaker and retired court reporter having worked in Wayne Superior Court III.� Velda was loved by everyone who knew her.� She was especially fond of her grandchildren whom she lovingly referred to as her "little toads".� She was a member of First Christian Church and a very active volunteer at Richmond Civic Theatre.� While volunteering with Civic Theatre, she served as a member of the board of directors and served as house manager and as a director's assistant.� She had also worked with costumes, makeup and program composition.� Velda was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award on several occasions and was also awarded the Congeniality Award and the Norbert Silbiger Award.

Survivors include her husband -Robert C. Myers, whom she married September 11, 1959;
Daughter - Becky Thomas of Richmond; Son - Robert C. Myers II of Swartz Creek, Michigan;Sisters - Wanda Helland of Billings, Montana and Charmaine Bohn of De Smet, South Dakota; Grandchildren - Andrew Thomas, Joseph Myers, Jennifer Myers, Hope Thomas-Couch, Colt Thomas, Kaitlyn Myers;� Great Grandchildren - Bailey Couch and Brandyn Couch; Nieces and Nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday (May 6, 2007) in First Christian Church�, 100 South 10th Street.� Rev.
