Velma R. Yoder-Minnich, age 94, of Richmond, departed this life on Monday morning (February 19, 2007) at Friends Fellowship Community.� She was born on March 2, 1912 in Springfield, Ohio to Ira F. and Olive Grisso Hoak.� Velma had worked as an elementary school teacher and had also served as a Sunday School teacher and as an interim missionary to Peru, Brazil and Costa Rica.� She had also traveled with other mission trips.� Her first husband, Harold F. Yoder, died in 1991, and her second husband, Alva E. Minnich died in 2001.

Son - Daryl H. (Wanda) Yoder of Lynchburg, Virginia;
Brother - Paul Myron Hoak of Springfield, Ohio;
Sister - Esther Ours of Springfield, Ohio;
Son-in-law - E. Dean Milam of Dayton, Ohio
Grandchildren - Renee C. (Ken Haman) Harp , H. Lyle (Cheri) Harp, Derek R. (Trisha) Harp, Lisa J. (Ken) Murphy, Jeanette (Keith) Krueger; Stephen C. (Jennifer Horton) Yoder, Liane M. (Jason) McCready

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday (March 3, 2007) at the Hillside Avenue Church of God, 2021 Hillside Ave,� Springfield, Ohio.� Memorial contributions may be made to the Harold and Velma Yoder Scholarship Fund at Anderson University, 1100 East 5th Street, Anderson, Indiana� 46012.�
