Obituary

Victor B. Ballman, age 94, of Richmond, died Saturday evening (November 18, 2017) at Reid Health. He was born in Rugby, North Dakota on June 20, 1923 to Leonard and Clara Alma Stolpman Ballman and had lived in Richmond most of his life. Vic was the owner/operator of the former Acme Radio and TV where he started working in 1953. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and an active member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish (Saint Andrew) where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. Vic was a friendly and genuine individual who was devoted to his family and to his faith.

Survivors include his children Mark (Brenda) Ballman, Linda Benjamin, Patricia Ballman and Catherine Ballman; 5 Grandchildren, several Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Julia Vandermeer Ballman in 1970 and daughters Nancy Ghearing in 1976 and Barbara Ballman in 1979.

Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday (November 22, 2017) In Saint Andrew Church. Father Kevin Morris will officiate. Burial will be in Saint Andrew Cemetery where military graveside services will be conducted by the Wayne County Honor Guard. Friends may call on Wednesday (November 22, 2017) from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
