Vincent E. DeVito, age 49, of Richmond, died Sunday morning (December 13, 2009) at Reid Hospital. He was born in Richmond on June 24, 1960 to Franklin E. and Jane Gaddis DeVito and had lived here all of his life. He was a graduate of Richmond High School and a veteran of the US Air Force. Vince was a professional firefighter and a 27 year member of the Richmond Fire Department where he was currently serving as Lieutenant. He was a member of Saint Mary Church and of Firefighters Local 1408. Survivors include his son - Devin DeVito of Richmond; fianc� - Dorenda Richardson of Richmond; mother - Jane DeVito of Richmond; sister - Teresa DeVito of Richmond, brother - Tony (Sharon) DeVito of Richmond, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. His father, Franklin E. DeVito died on February 15, 2004 and his brother, Steven E. DeVito, died on March 7, 1997. A prayer service will be held at 9:30 am on Thursday (December 17, 2009) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Mary Church. Burial will be in Saint Mary Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday (December 16, 2009) from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
