Virgil C. Bulmer, age 69, of Richmond, died Saturday morning (November 20, 2010) at his residence. He was born in Dalton, Indiana on November 8, 1941 to James and Millie White Bulmer and had lived here all of his life. He retired in 2004 after 39 years of employment with the Wayne County Highway Department. He had also worked as a farrier and was an avid woodcutter. He was a member of the Wayne County Sheriff's Mounted Patrol. Survivors include his wife - Clara Bulmer, sons - James (Kristi) Bulmer of Fountain City, Jeremy (Sara) Bulmer of Fountain City; step-daughter - Tammy (Jim) Scotten of Richmond,step-son - Patrick (Sherry) Barker of Williamsburg; grandson - Kahlen Bulmer; step-grandson - Jacob Robbins, step-granddaughters - Betsy and Sarah Scotten, Elizabeth and Michaela Barker, Keirstyn DeLucio; sisters - Ruth Ward of Lynn, Margie (Charles) Black of Hagerstown, Joyce (Kenny) Gray of Hagerstown, Joan (O.C.) VanZant of New Paris; brother - Vernon (Myra) Bulmer of Hagerstown; adopted family - Monica and Andy Blankenship and Cheryl Wright and families; his buddy - "Queenie", nieces and nephews In addition to his parents, a step-son - Michael Barker; four brothers - David, Robert, Harlan and Roger Bulmer, two sisters - Jean Smith, Doris Bulmer; brothers-in-law - Jake Burt, Lawson Ward, Jim Smith are also deceased. Services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday (November 23, 2010) in the Nettle Creek Church of the Brethren ( 5352 N. Brick Church Road ��" Hagerstown) Rev. Pam Cook will officiate. Burial will be in Brick Church Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday (November 22, 2010) from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary.
