Virginia M. Byrd, age 87, of Richmond, died Thursday morning (February 18, 2010) at Ambassador Health Care. She was born in Union County, Indiana on February 23, 1922 to Sherman and Ethel Mae Driskill Haag and had lived in this area all of her life. She was a retired employee of NATCO and had worked for Sears Roebuck and Company. Virginia was a homemaker and enjoyed developing designs and decorating eggs. Her husband, Daniel E. Byrd, died on January 13, 2009. Survivors include her step-son - Ed Byrd of Albany, Indiana; step-daughter - Cheryl Murphy of Pennville, Indiana; brother - Bobby Haag of Pickerington, Ohio Sister - Lois Ann Swartz of West Chester, Ohio; 3 Grandchildren, nieces and nephews Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday (February 24, 2010) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. Russell Fraley will officiate. Burial will be in College Corner Cemetery.
