Virginia C. Coleman, Richmond, age 88, passed peacefully from this Earth into the arms of Jesus surrounded by her loving family on May 16, 2018. Virginia was born in Richmond, Indiana to Helen G. Sinex and Charles Leslie Sinex on May 31, 1929.
Virginia graduated from Morton High School in 1947. She was a homemaker for many years and she and Ronald opened their home to caring for several foster children while raising their own children. She worked at the Palladium-Item in the accounting department for 25 years, retiring from there on May 17, 1991. She continued to work part-time in various office positions including the offices of Dr. Alan Glock, Dr. Vasilis Mackris, and First English Lutheran Church.
Virginia was a humble, gentle, loving woman to family and friends. She loved to travel with her husband, children, and grandchildren on excursions throughout the United States. She was devoted to her family and her church of many years, First English Lutheran Church. She instilled a great faith throughout her life and in the lives of her children. She enjoyed playing hand bells for many years and singing in the church choir at First English Lutheran Church.
She was a cancer survivor in the early 2000's as she beat colon cancer. She remained cancer free until 2016. She fought a brave fight for 2 years and never complained. She remained resilient and humble to the end. She was a loving inspiration to her family and friends who remained so proud of her to the very end of this life. Sadly missed, forever loved, never forgotten. Her life on this Earth is finished, but she lives in eternal glory with her savior Jesus.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Ronald F. Coleman; daughter Susan Lindley Shearer; sons David (Sharon) Coleman of Bath, Indiana and Marc (Sarah) Coleman of Camden, Ohio; grandchildren Jeff and David (Jenny) Lindley, Jacob, Preston and Katelyn Coleman, Angela Hoagland, Courtney (Corey) Brattain, Allison Houston, Dylan, Kylie, Cody, Easton, Maverick, Lane, Bryson, and Brayden. Also several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Virginia was preceded in death by her mother Helen Sinex; father Charles Sinex; 3 brothers Alan, Robert, and Nelson Sinex.
Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday (May 21, 2018) at First English Lutheran Church 2727 East Main St. Richmond, Indiana. Pastor Chip Belanga and Pastor John Walker to officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Lutherania Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Monday (May 21, 2018) at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in Virginia's name to the Circle U Help Center 19 N 13 St. Richmond, Indiana or Hand in Hand Adult Day Care 2727 East Main St. Richmond, Indiana.
