Virginia Leora (Ramey) Ghearing, age 92, passed away peacefully at Rosegate Village on Tuesday (October 26, 2010) She was born on July 13, 1918 to Melvin O. and Clara C. Taylor Ramey and was a lifelong resident of Richmond. She was a 1937 graduate of Morton High School. She was a homemaker and devoted caregiver to her family for many years. She is survived by two children - Mary Margaret Campbell and husband Fred of Richmond, Mel Ghearing and wife Kathy of Mt. Dora, Florida; grandchildren - Michael Campbell of Chicago, Ill, Cindy Rockwell and husband Kevin of Noblesville, Megan Dodson and husband Dave of Prairie Village, Kansas, Scott Brooks ans wife Tara of Jacksonville, Florida; great grandchildren - Noah Rockwell, Madison Rockwell, Jacob Brooks, Taylor Luce; sister-in-law Martha Ghearing of Richmond, nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh F. Ghearing, her parents, Melvin and Clara Ramey, a brother, Isaac Ramey, a sister, Ethel Joann Ramey, a daughter-in-law, Nancy Ghearing and two grandchildren, Brenda Campbell and Lisa Ghearing Funeral services will be held on Saturday (October 30, 2010) at 11:00 am in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Chaplain David Garman will officiate. Burial will be in Boston Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday (October 29, 2010) from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
