Walter W. Hilbert, age 88, of Indianapolis, died Wednesday evening (April 22, 2009) at Community East Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Fayette County on March 2, 1921to Joseph and Louise Bleill Hilbert. Walter married his wife of 58 years , Eileen Austerman Hilbert, in Richmond and they moved to Connersville in 1951where he farmed until 1976. He had also worked for the former Design and Manufacturing Company Survivors include his wife - Eileen Hilbert, daughters - Sharon (Arthur) Cope of Indianapolis, Karen Long of Indianapolis, Bonnie (Curt) Schwehm of Medina, Ohio; sisters - Lena Roach of Dyer, Indiana, Marie Wheeler of Connersville, Catherine Keal of Connersville, Dorothy May of Connersville; grandchildren - Denice Michel, Michael Sullivan, Brett Sullivan, Sarah Warner, Susan Long, Greg Schwehm, David Schwehm, Spencer Long; step-grandchildren - Melanie Cope, Victoria Cope; great grandchildren - Rayna Lynn Warner and Ian Sullivan; nieces and nephews A brother, Raymond Hilbert, and two sisters, Florence Amrhein and Louise Osborn, are also deceased. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Saturday (April 25, 2009) in Saint Andrew Church in Richmond. Burial will be in Saint Andrew Cemetery Friends may call on Saturday (April 25, 2009) from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm at the church.
