Wanda Starks, age 93, passed away Tuesday (July 23, 2013) at Golden Living Center Golden Rule. She was the daughter of Orville and Mary Shurte Clegg. She was born February 20, 1920 in New Westville, Ohio. Wanda was a graduate of New Paris High School, and lived most of her life there. She was a member of the Druids, VFW Lodge, and a member of the Moose Lodge for 65 years, and was the club's oldest life member. She was a great cook, and worked at Moose Lodge as a cook and bartender. Wanda also bartended at the Elbow Room for 9 years, Halls restaurant in New Paris, and was manager of the kitchen at RP&L for 9 years. In addition to her parents, Wanda is preceded in death by her husbands Robert Green, Paul Jordan, and Earl Starks, son James Green, daughter Patricia Clark, and half brother Clifford Long. She is survived by her granddaughter Denise (Bill) Morris and grandson David (Angie) Eckerle, great granddaughter Jenna Ann Morris, sister in law Marcella Stikeleather, many nieces, nephews, and friends. Services for Wanda will be held on Monday (July 29, 2013) at Riggle-Waltermann mortuary at 1 p.m. Rev. Paul Mingus will officiate. Friends may call on Monday (July 29, 2013) at the funeral home from noon until 1 p.m. Burial will be in Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio.
