Obituary

Willard James "Jim" Mattix, age 70, of Centerville, died Sunday evening (January 8, 2006) at Golden Rule Beverly Healthcare. He was born in Richmond on December 30, 1935 to Willard R. and Laura B Phillips Mattix and had lived in this area most of his life. He worked as a cross country truck driver and most recently was employed delivering vans to the southern part of the United States. He was an active supporter and fan of the Richmond Roosters and for many years was an active participant and sponsor in local bowling activities. He enjoyed racing at local race tracks and also found pleasure in supporting youth sports. Most recently he found satisfaction in working in his yard. Jim was a member of the Moose Lodge and a former member of the Druids Lodge and the American Legion. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp where he served in Okinawa and Korea.
Survivors include - Wife - R. Sharlene Mattix, to whom he was married 46 years;
Sons - Rodney (Vicki) Mattix of Centerville,
Ryan (Katina) Mattix of Greens Fork;
Sisters - Joan Lawson of Richmond
Norma Capps of Richmond
Zella (Jim) Miller of New Castle;
Brothers - John (Nancy) Mattix of Coos Bay, Oregon
Clarence (Joyce) Titus of Richmond
William (Sanna) Titus of Richmond
Grandchildren - Stephanie Fudge, Kristin Mattix, Patrick Mattix,
Mary Mattix and Brandon Mattix

In addition to his parents, a special brother-in-law-, Joe Capps, is also deceased
Services will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday (January 12, 2006) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. His nephew, Jeff Capps, will officiate. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday (January 11, 2006) from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
