William C. "Bill" Snyder, age 80, died Monday (May 7, 2007) at Alterra Sterling House in Richmond where he had resided for the past two years.� He was born on October 12, 1926 in Madison, Indiana to the late William Clifford and Catherine Adelaide Snyder.� His family relocated to Lawrenceburg where Bill grew up and graduated from Lawrenceburg High School.� He was an outstanding athlete, especially in football.� Bill attended Rose Polytechnic Institute, enlisted in the Army Air Corps, and served in Germany after World War II.� He moved to Richmond in 1954 and in 1959 he married Linda Randall.�

For several years he owned and operated One Hour Martinizing franchises at 500 and 1020 East Main Street.� Later, he also worked as a soil sampler and for a boat dealership.� Bill was always an avid outdoorsman who kept his boat and fishing gear in the water as much as possible.� The Ohio River held a special affinity for him, and he spent a lot of time there.� In addition, through the years, hunting dogs were both companion pets and working partners in the search for small game.� Walking the dogs also was a source of good exercise.

Survivors include his wife Linda Randall Snyder;� sons Gregory and wife Jani Snyder of Centerville, Indiana, Michael Snyder of Portland, Indiana;� sister - Mary Virginia Schultz of Madison, Indiana;� grandchildren - (Greg's sons) Geoffrey, Bruce, Andy, and (Mike's daughters) Julie and Lyndi Snyder; two nieces and five nephews.
