Obituary

William A. Dargie, age 68, of Richmond, died Saturday evening (April 15, 2006) at Reid Hospital. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 13, 1937 to William B. and Elizabeth Riley Dargie and had lived in this area most of his life. He was a driver for Commerical Motor Freight for 28 years and retired as an employee of ABF Systems. He had also worked for Wayne Concrete. Bill was a veteran of the US Army and was a member of Saint Andrew Church.

Survivors include: his wife - Janice Dargie to whom he was married 43 years; son Gregory Dargie of Crawfordsville, Indiana; daughter - Renita (Mike) Baumer of Richmond; sisters - Joan Doerflein of Richmond, Lillian Richardson of Richmond, Lorraine "Kitty" Fitzgibbons of Richmond, Audrey Hoffenbacher of Richmond; brother - Robert Dargie of Richmond; grandsons - Mitchell Baumer and Garrett Baumer. step-grandchildren - Mike Farris and Amanda (Ron) Norman; 6 step-great grandchildren; 1 step-great great grandchild; nieces,nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his parents, a son, Gary J. Dargie, a grandson, Austin Baumer and his daughter-in-law, Bonnie Dargie, are also deceased.

A prayer service will be held at 9:30 am on Wednesday (April 19, 2006) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Andrew Church. Burial will be in Saint Andrew Cemetery where military graveside services will be conducted by the Wayne County Veterans Council Friends may call on Tuesday (April 18, 2006) from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Andrew Church,
