William Edward Hersley, age 58, of Richmond, died Thursday (December 1, 2011) at Reid Hospital. He was born in Batesville on March 31, 1953 to Richard and Elizabeth Glaub Hersley and had lived in Richmond for the past 22 years. He was a former employee of the Recycling Center and worked as a carpenter. Survivors include his daughters - Ruth (Robert) Metcalf of Richmond, Emily Bauman of Greensburg; son - James Edward Miller of Richmond; brother - Tom Hersley of Lawrenceburg, sisters - Carolyn Jacobs of Greensburg, Rosalie Smothers of Shelbyville, Rebecca Lunsford of Muncie, Alice White of Greensburg; his former wife - Patricia Lawson of Richmond; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A brother, Richard Hersley, is also deceased. Services will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Saturday (December 10, 2011) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary.
