William F. Kidder, Sr., age 86, of Richmond, died Tuesday evening (July 19, 2011) at Reid Hospital. He was born in Portland, Indiana on January 18, 1925 to Joseph and Goldie Miller Kidder and had lived here since 1953. He was a retired employee of the United States Postal Service and a retired barber. Bill was a US Army veteran of World War II, a life member of the Moose Lodge and a member of the Druids Lodge. His wife, Peg Kidder, died in 2001. Survivors include his children - Pamela Thompson of Richmond, William (Nancy) Kidder, Jr. of Centerville, Beverly (Tom) George of Williamsburg, Jon (Joy) Kidder of Inverness, Florida, Pat (Barb) Kidder of Hagerstown, Jessica Kidder of Richmond; step-children - Ann (John) Whitesell of Union City, Steve (Debbie) Duncan of Richmond, Janet Eversole of Richmond, Kenneth Young of Richmond; sister - Delores King of Portland, Indiana, brother-in-law - Mickey Haviland of Ridgeville, Indiana; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday (July 22, 2011) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. David Leffel will officiate. Burial will be in Elkhorn Cemetery where military graveside services will be conducted by the Wayne County Honor Guard. Friends may call on Friday (July 22, 2011) from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
