Obituary

William M. Meinsen, age 75, of Richmond, died Friday morning (March 17, 2006) at his residence. He was born in Richmond on June 24, 1930 to William Ike and Bessie Meinsen and had lived in this area all of his life. He was a graduate of Richmond High School and was US Army veteran of the Korean War. Bill was a retired thirty year employee of the Richmond Fire Department. He had also served as sexton of Saint Mary Cemetery for more than 40 years. He was an avid auto racing fan and thoroughly enjoyed time with his grandchildren and working on his home and the surrounding grounds. He was a member of the VFW. Survivors include Wife - Lavonne Meinsen to whom he was married 56 years Sons - Mike Meinsen of Richmond, Jeff Meinsen of Richmond, David (Tami) Meinsen of Columbus, Ohio, Gayle (Jennifer) Meinsen of Richmond, Todd (Karen) Meinsen of Fountain City, 13 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren A daughter, Christine Meinsen, and sister, Mary Frazer, are also deceased. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday (March 21, 2006) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Bill Roots will officiate and Danny Sparks, a special friend of the family, will speak. Burial will be in Lutherania Cemetery where military graveside services will be conducted by the Wayne County Veterans Council. Friends may call on Monday (March 20, 2006) from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home
