Willis W. Pyke passed away on October 9, 2013 at the age of 95. He was born on July 15, 1918 in Prairie Twsp, Tipton County, Indiana to Mennie Ann McGraw Pyke and Sherman Pyke. Willis was one of six boys. His brothers Norman, Wilbur, Denzil, Kenneth, and Robert have preceded him in death. He was married to Maxine Dawson Pyke. They were married on February 15, 1941 in Danville, Indiana. They were married 62 years. Maxine preceded Willis in death in July 2003. Willis worked at NATCO for 39 ½ years. He was a former member of Masonic Webb Lodge number 24, and a member of First Christian Church in Richmond. Survivors include one daughter, Marcia (Joe) Smith of Richmond; two granddaughters, Elizabeth (Kent) Poore of Muncie, and Jennifer (Dennis) Baumer of Richmond; four great grandchildren, Matthew VanMatre and Jessica (Ron) Hopwood of Colorado, and Kyle Baumer and Melissa Baumer of Richmond. Services for Willis will be private. Willis will be laid to rest with his Wife at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Boston, Indiana. Pastor Amanda Hines will officiate.
